Sarah and I were at it this weekend again – getting out and doing some maternity photos of each other. This time, the hubbies came as well, and I had a great time taking photos of Sarah’s beautiful belly with her husband Nick. Hard to believe she’s just 2-3 weeks from finally meeting her baby! She looks GREAT! Congrats you two – can’t wait to meet little Roger!!

Just had a great visit with the delightful Nina Notaro of Cake Studio – our paths have crossed recently and I was thrilled to be able to stop by at her studio and check out her amazing wedding cake work! Not only that, but she prepared me a piece of cake to try: complete with apricot filling, chocolate, brandy cream filling and marzipan. It was DELICIOUS! Most recently, her work was on display at Kristin & Jonathan’s wedding – a beautiful delectable creation that was definitely eye-catching! Turns out, she’ll be doing the cake for one of my 2011 wedding couples – and although the design is hush-hush (no secrets were shared with me!), she assured me that this one will knock our socks off. I cannot wait. But until then, check out Kristin & Jonathan’s wedding cake from a couple weekends ago…. great work Nina! (and yes, those are all edible branches & berries… all hand made with sugar and food colouring)

Wedding season 2010 ended on a great note with Kristin and Jonathan’s beautiful 2-day wedding event. And who would’ve thought November could be this warm!? They got married on a gorgeous Winnipeg November weekend – with mild weather and gorgeous late-autumn light… what more can you ask for?? I usually don’t post this many wedding pictures, but I really couldn’t help it. Kristin and Jonathan were an absolute pleasure to work with – always light-hearted, full of laughter and totally enjoying their day. These two have been in love for a long time and to see their connection just as bright and strong on their wedding day as I’m sure it was when they first met was such a delight. You could tell they were so comfortable together, best of friends yet still madly in love with each other. Just take a look at the pictures to see what I mean!
Congratulations you two – you definitely make a beautiful couple and I couldn’t have ended this wedding season on a better note! It’s people like you that make my work so rewarding. 🙂

Speaking of familiar faces and long-time clients, this past week I was at the studio again with another one of my favourite long-time clients and friends, Chris and Bev. I’ve been photographing their family ever since it started in Bev’s belly almost 4 years ago for a maternity session, and have been going strong ever since then! Unfortunately, I only met Bev & Chris after they had gotten married, so I missed out on doing their engagement and wedding photos… but I’m always excited when I get a call from Bev saying “We need new family photos!”. Bev’s always super creative and prepared when it comes to family portraits: this time, for her Christmas theme, she brought accessories! Boxes, gifts, Christmas plants and of course, coordinated outfits for the whole family. Here are a few highlights of our afternoon at the studio: Avari, as expressive and enthusiastic as always, and Judah, growing into such a handsome young man! (yet still oh-so cute!)
Merry Christmas to the Hidlebaugh Family!

It seems like only a few weeks ago we were enjoying warm fall weather, and now we’re covered in snow! I’ve been wanting to blog these engagement photos for quite some time, and finally I get around to it. You’re going to LOVE this couple: Laura and Chris – an absolute delight! They stopped to grab some coffee and we took some candid shots walking around the exchange district, enjoying what was probably the last summer-like day of this fall. It was an absolute joy to be able to photograph them, they are such a lovely couple, full of life, laughter and of course love! I’ve only just met them this summer, but it’s easy to see they’re inseparable and they draw the best out of each other when they’re together. I’m really looking forward to their 2011 wedding – it’s going to be such a treat being their wedding photographer!! Here are the photos from our engagement session in downtown Winnipeg – enjoy!
