When I first met with Lisa and Neil last November and they told me all about their wedding plans and ideas, I got super excited! They had plans to get married on the beach at Victoria Beach where their family has a cabin, do some photos in the area and have a super fun stand-up reception at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory. Need I say more? I was thrilled when they said YES to me photographing their wedding, and the rest has been a countdown to their day. And you could say their day was pretty much perfect! (except for a slight location change) Victoria Beach wasn’t suitable for the ceremony due to flood damage, so instead they got married on the beach “next door”, which is at the end of Albert Beach. I spent all my childhood summers at Albert Beach, so shooting a ceremony there meant a lot to me. I do believe it is the best beach in the world – great sand, gorgeous scenery and beautiful Lake Winnipeg. I was thrilled to be “at work” on the beach!
The sun was hot, the sky was beautiful, and of course the couple was stunning! Lisa really outdid herself – an alternative wedding dress, a gorgeous feather hairpiece and summer shoes. Neil looked great too, and the wedding party wore coordinating colours without being too matchy-matchy. Along with the flowers, this was a great looking bunch! (in case you’re interested, the hairpiece was created by the very talented HairWare by Betsy. If you’re wanting one, give her a shout! hairware1.bands@gmail.com)
After the ceremony, we did wedding party photos at Sandy Hills (a large sand cliff nearby), at their cabin and in a beautiful forest along the highway. We were on a tight schedule, but I wish we could’ve stayed there forever! The scenery was beautiful and it brought me back to my childhood, spending long summer days exploring majestic tranquil forests and bumming around on the beach under a hot sun.
We then headed back to the city for the next best part: their stand up reception at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory. There, again, we were treated to beautiful decor including tons of hand-made origami cranes and a photo clothesline. They also had casino tables, a deconstructed candy bar and of course delicious food & an amazing cake buffet. The work they put into the wedding definitely showed, and I was really happy to be a part of it all. Now, enough blabbing, here are some of their photos! Congratulations Lisa & Neil!!

This is my second wedding in a row where there is a dog ring bearer at the ceremony! I love it!

Wedding on the beach? YES! This “destination” wedding (as I call it!) was right here in Manitoba, on what I believe is the best beach in the world. Here’s a sneak peek from Lisa & Neil’s gorgeous summer wedding. Full blog post coming soon!

I’m so excited to finally post photos from Megan & Jeremy’s wedding day – my first wedding of the 2011 season! After a long winter break (busy at home with a new baby!), I’m so glad to be back in the swing of things. And there’s no better way to kick it off than with this beautiful couple.
I first met Megan and Jeremy at a destination wedding I shot last year for Jeremy’s brother. They weren’t engaged yet, but it definitely looked like it was only a matter of time before a ring would appear. These guys are made for each other: they both have a huge passion for traveling the world and cycling, all while sharing an amazing chemistry and a rock solid friendship. Oh, and let’s not forget their other big love: their dog Flint! (who got to be the ring bearer)
I had an amazing time shooting their engagement photos, and as I was watching Megan counting down the days to the wedding on Facebook, I got more and more excited to shoot their wedding!
So here it is…. a beautiful wedding, a stunning couple and an enduring love. Congratulations Megan & Jeremy!

The day started off with getting ready photos with the girls, while my second photographer (the amazing and talented Duncan McNairnay) photographed the guys getting ready. After a beautiful ceremony (and a heart-felt exchange of vows!), we headed to Red River College and the Exchange District for some wedding party photos. We ended at Niakwa Country Club for some greenery photos and the reception.

I’ve been so spoiled lately, so many baby shoots in the last few months! I get so excited about meeting all these new babies, and Isla was certainly one I won’t forget! She has gorgeous smiling eyes and a beautiful personality. She is just over three and half months old and so full of life! I went a little overboard with taking photos, and when it came down to picking some for the blog post, I just couldn’t help but post a lot. So here they are. I can’t get enough of this cute girl! Congratulations Matt & Ashley, she is a treasure!

Time flies. Yes, people say that a lot, but it’s so true! They really do grow up so fast. I had a last minute shoot at my studio this afternoon, and because I didn’t have time to find a babysitter, I toted Élise along and snapped a few shots of her while waiting for my client. I can’t get over how cute she is! Especially in white. Je t’aime Élise!!
