You may be wondering why my blog has been quiet this past month… I’m super excited to announce that the tiny little reason why I’ve been absent is due to my new favourite little person, Élise Zoë Kroeker! Our daughter was born on December 22nd, and Chad and I couldn’t be happier! Of course, I’ve been taking pictures of her constantly, and I’ve had a hard time picking my favourites. She is oh-so-cute! What a dream! We’re taking things easy these days, relaxing at home and enjoying our new little family. Here are some photos from the past few days. Isn’t she adorable!!?? 🙂
It’s been strange taking a break from work and photography, but I’m looking forward to getting back to it. (I have a couple photo albums ready to be photographed and displayed on the blog… can’t wait!) No rush for now, we’re enjoying little Élise and we’re completely enamored by her. For now, I’ll be on a little break and enjoying bonding with my little bundle. Hope you all had a merry Christmas and see you all in the new year!

It was an absolute delight to finally meet Bridget & Martin’s oh-so adorable little girl yesterday – the lovely Mathilde ! At only 3 weeks of age, she’s already got quite the extensive repertoire of facial expressions, including many that fall under the CUTE category. CUTE CUTE CUTE! It’s really an amazing experience to see parents bonding with their first-born. I don’t quite know (yet!) the mystery of falling instantly in love with your baby, but one thing’s for sure: seeing it is such a beautiful experience, and there’s nothing I’d rather do than to photograph those moments. Congratulations Bridget on giving birth to Mathilde – you look AMAZING! And way to go Martin, you already have the makings of a wonderful Papa! Bienvenue au monde, Mathilde !

Sarah and I were at it this weekend again – getting out and doing some maternity photos of each other. This time, the hubbies came as well, and I had a great time taking photos of Sarah’s beautiful belly with her husband Nick. Hard to believe she’s just 2-3 weeks from finally meeting her baby! She looks GREAT! Congrats you two – can’t wait to meet little Roger!!

Just had a great visit with the delightful Nina Notaro of Cake Studio – our paths have crossed recently and I was thrilled to be able to stop by at her studio and check out her amazing wedding cake work! Not only that, but she prepared me a piece of cake to try: complete with apricot filling, chocolate, brandy cream filling and marzipan. It was DELICIOUS! Most recently, her work was on display at Kristin & Jonathan’s wedding – a beautiful delectable creation that was definitely eye-catching! Turns out, she’ll be doing the cake for one of my 2011 wedding couples – and although the design is hush-hush (no secrets were shared with me!), she assured me that this one will knock our socks off. I cannot wait. But until then, check out Kristin & Jonathan’s wedding cake from a couple weekends ago…. great work Nina! (and yes, those are all edible branches & berries… all hand made with sugar and food colouring)
