I met up with the Regehr family to do some photos a couple weeks ago when Winnipeg was experiencing some gorgeous summer weather in October. And from these photos, you’ll clearly see who the star of the show is! Cute, cute Noah! We walked around the Exchange District, and took some shots around every corner. It was fun photographing this family – super casual, lots of laughter and joking around and totally relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. We got a few posed family shots and some great candid family moments. Check out the face-grab by Noah in the last picture! Poor Grandpa! (as dad laughs!)

I’ve been catching up on my blogging lately, which takes me back to a fun wedding I photographed this summer – with an outdoor ceremony on the Red River and some pretty colourful bridal shoes! Janelle and Barrett booked me last year, and shortly after, I had the pleasure of running around Munson Park with them to take some engagement photos. For any of you who has ever bought a gift certificate from me, one of my favourite photos from that shoot is on the gift certificate. LOVE IT. Needless to say, I was looking forward to photographing their actual wedding. It was a hot summer day, and along with their ceremony at the Forks (across from the famous St. Boniface Cathedral), it was a pretty unforgettable experience! I also want to make mention of Janelle’s wonderful wedding coordinator – Allana of F2 Styling & Events – who helped take care of some pretty important details so that Janelle and Barrett could relax and enjoy their day.

I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Lorraine a few weeks ago to get some professional headshots for her careers as a beauty consultant (for Mary Kay) and newspaper sales manager. Lorraine told me what she wanted her headshot to represent and we headed out to the Forks to take that vision and turn it into actual headshot photos. It was great connecting with her and capturing her openness and dynamic personality. There’s a natural glow about her and combined with her ease of laughter, it was a delight capturing her true self in these photos!

Almost 7 months along and lookin’ good! Say hello to the talent behind Hodge Podge Creative, the beautifully pregnant Sarah Hodges-Kolisnyk. Last week, Sarah let me take her through tall mosquito-infested grass to take a few shots of her beautiful belly while the October weather was still nice. Here are some of my favourites – isn’t she adorable?? In a few weeks we’ll be doing some studio maternity photos as well, so stay tuned for that! Congrats Sarah & Nick on baby-R!

I’m very excited to finally post photos from Lisa and Lyle’s wedding this past Saturday! Although it was a long day (16 hours of coverage!), it went by surprisingly fast… and every moment was worth it! What can I say: WOW. They looked great, and they had fun throughout their entire day. I love it when couples are laid back, totally taking in every moment and making it count. I saw a connection between these two that feels real – something deep-rooted that totally makes photographing weddings so worthwhile to me.
I met Lisa and Lyle almost 2 years ago, when I had just finished my first real summer as a wedding photographer. They must’ve seen something in me, because my portfolio wasn’t that big back then, and they still booked me! (and I’m so glad they did!) It’s been a great couple of years and now that the wedding has come and cone, I think I’m going to miss our planning meetings at Eva’s Gelato!
So here are their photos from their wedding day: the colours were great, the wedding party was awesome, and the setting was beautiful. After a few photos at the Legislative Building and in the Exchange District, we headed to Bridges Golf Course for the reception and a few romantic evening photos on the course. The reception was full of dancing – and let me tell you, Lisa and Lyle LOVE to dance! I think Lisa spent the most time on the dance floor than anyone else there!
