Jessica and Mike got married on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon in July and every location they chose added so much to the beauty and meaning of their day. It was a true honour to create these images for them all the while documenting the story of their day unfolding before us. The joy and connection they share is so sweet to watch and seeing them so happy was definitely the highlight of the day, not only for me but I’m sure for all their guests too! They kept their day simple, elegant and truly meaningful. Starting with getting ready photos at the historic Fort Garry Hotel, followed by a lovely ceremony at the gorgeous Westminster Church, then on to the Exchange District and City Hall for some wedding portraits, and ending off the wedding celebrations with a super fun reception at St. Charles Country Club. From start to finish, this wedding day was a perfect reflection of these two! Here are some highlights… but make sure you scroll down to the end to see an adorable photo of Jessica dancing with her grandfather!

Back in March we had a beautiful streak of warm weather so I was glad that Jessy & Peter’s engagement session happen to be scheduled right in the middle of it. We had made plans to start the session indoors at the Fort Garry Hotel and to finish outdoors with Winnipeg’s iconic cityscape in the background. It was the middle of the afternoon, quite balmy with a full bright sun. With the Human Rights Museum in the background, and the last of the ice melt on the Red River, we captured some great photos that were truly “Winnipeg”. Since these two are getting married outside the city, they wanted to incorporate some more urban/Winnipeg locations in their engagement photos.
Jessy & Peter are absolutely lovely to work with and so adorable together! I’m honoured to be their wedding photographer and cannot wait to see what’s in store for their big day. Congratulations you two! See you again in a few months!

Planning an outdoor wedding in Winnipeg in the summer comes with a bit of a gamble – not knowing if it’ll rain or not definitely was on Stephanie & Mitch’s mind, and certainly on mine too. The Leo Mol Garden at Assiniboine Park was booked for their wedding ceremony and thankfully we had a beautiful rain-free day! We started the day with some getting ready photos at the Fort Garry Hotel and the Viscount Gort, and after the ceremony we had a bit more time to use the Leo Mol Garden and English Gardens for family photos and a few wedding party portraits. Stephanie and Mitch reserved a table at Cibo on Waterfront for them and their wedding party and it was such a great way to get fun & relaxed candid photos of their group in the afternoon. We also snuck out for a few more couple portraits along the Red River and I have to say, Stephanie is one adventurous bride! She was always game for hiking through riverside trails no matter how damp or muddy it was – she was fearless! These two are super easy-going, full of love and life and completely dedicated to each other. It was a beautiful thing to see and an even greater honour to be there to photograph their special day. Congratulations you two!

Last weekend I had the huge pleasure of being Lauren and Justin’s wedding photographer for a full day of fun celebrations, multiple ceremonies and traditions as well as amazing locations for portrait photos of the couple and their wedding party. We all had a blast! There were so many photos taken, but for now I’m sharing a sneak peek. Here it is… congratulations you two!
