After a lot of time researching different wedding album options, looking at various samples, and even printing multiple albums from various companies, time and time again I come back to these ones: rich leather bound, super sturdy with exceptional photo quality. The flush-mount pages display the photos seamlessly from edge to edge, even allowing printing over the center fold for a 2-page full spread. Wedding photos need to last a lifetime and beyond and these albums are perfect for safeguarding your photos all while converting them into an elegant showpiece. Most of my clients choose the larger sizes (10×14 and 12×12) but parent albums are also perfect in the 8×10 size. Pictured below are some of the albums that I’ve designed for my clients. These albums are definitely worth seeing (and holding) in real life to appreciate their full value. I love them!

I had the pleasure of first meeting this little guy when he was just born – we had done newborn photos of him at his home when he was just a few days old. Fast forward to 12 months later and already his first birthday had come! Time flies. He’s changed so much in just one short year but he’s still just as irresistably cute as he was when I first met him. He’s such a sweetheart and his parents are head over heels in love with him. Such a lovely little guy – I can’t wait to continue seeing him grow! Happy birthday Hudson!

September is such a great time of year for outdoor family photos in Winnipeg – it’s when the leaves are starting to change colour, the air is still warm but not too hot and the evening light offers just the right amount of loveliness. I took the Wood family to one of my favourite spots and we spent some time wandering around a grove of trees in a wooded area for some fun photos. The kids were absolutely adorable, and together with their parents, they made such a cute family ensemble together! After a few standard posed shots, we let the kids run around and have fun so we could also capture some candid moments. Here is their collection of photos from our fun evening photo shoot!

As I was driving out to Winkler for Jenelle & Joel’s wedding this past September, the weather was a little iffy, and I wasn’t sure if we’d be getting rained on or not… either way, there was no way a bit of rain was going to damper anything. Seeing Jenelle and her beautiful dress, flowers (by Bloom) and accessories kicked off the day on just the right note! Once everyone was dressed, we met up the guys at a farmyard for some rustic wedding portraits. Everyone looked stunning, but best of all was seeing Jenelle and Joel seeing each other for the first time — so romantic, so sweet, so heart-melting!! They are a delight to see together and it was absolutely amazing seeing them get married.
The wind did pick up and as we saw the dark storm clouds rolling in, we hurried to our cars and headed to town to grab some coffee at Jonny’s Java for some absolutely delicious cappuccinos (definitely worth a trip to Winkler to check out the café!). The rain tapered off a bit and we were able to take a few more outdoor photos under the shelter of some bright green trees. By the time their tent ceremony started, the sun had come out and everything looked absolutely heavenly.
Jenelle and Joel – thank you for having me a part of your beautiful wedding day. I won’t soon forget it – you two are made of gold and I wish you all the best in your new life together!

Before it was even talked about, I had already decided that I’d photograph my brother’s wedding so when he asked me for my availability, I was so excited that I did have their wedding date open! (it’s tough being a wedding photographer when family gets married… you really HOPE you’re not already booked!)
Not only was it an honour to be present at their wedding in Ontario, but it was extra, extra special that I was able to photograph it for them. I knew I was going to be over 7 months pregnant by the time their wedding came, but that certainly didn’t stop me. Being the photographer is the best role anyone can have at a wedding, especially when it’s your kid brother getting married. You get the best view at the ceremony and reception, plus you get to see all the beautiful and intimate moments throughout the day that make weddings so personal and special. Those in-between moments are one-of-a-kind, and it’s such a treat to be there to witness it all.
They were married in my sister-in-law’s home-town in rural Ontario and she was intentional in using her parents’ home for the getting ready photos and their large yard for the wedding portraits. Since moving to Winnipeg, she’s left part of her heart out there and it was super important to capture the location and setting for their collection of photos. They ended up getting a beautifully warm, late September day with a bright sun and bright colours on the trees. The two of them just OOZE love like you’ve never seen it before, and it was so amazing being able to capture it all for them! Patrick and Erin have definitely found their match in love and it’s absolutely beautiful to see these two revel in all of it.
Congratulations you guys — the day, the whole weekend, everything… it was so special and memorable! I’m over the moon happy for you both!!
PS: I do appear in a few of these photos… thanks to Erin’s amazing friend Bethany! Thank you!

Chelsea and Justin are elegant, romantic and they also love to have fun and enjoy the company of their many friends and family. They planned their wedding day with great detail and the entire event reflected their true personality and heart. From the beautiful decor touches, to the gorgeous wedding attire (even that of their wedding party), to the fun outdoor activities and cocktails that were available to the guests at Fort Gibraltar – it was through and through a well thought-out wedding event that was clearly enjoyed by all who were present. These two value family and friends and made sure that the entire day was set up for all to joyfully celebrate their marriage. I had a ton of fun with the wedding party and absolutely loved the gorgeous romantic portraits with the two of them alone. It was also super fun photographing their guests during the cocktail hour – the fort came alive with the open cabins, live historic characters and an ax-throwing station where guests could take a crack at chucking a big ax at a wood block!
What a great venue, and best of all, what a fantastic couple: full of love and enthusiasm for life. These two have an enduring, rich love and I couldn’t have been happier to be present to photograph it all. Félicitations vous deux!!

Chantal and Daniel are just the sweetest couple ever! I had a lovely time with them going to the outskirts of Winnipeg on a hot summer evening to capture these moments with them. Chantal was super prepared – she brought along accessories and props to add an extra little touch to the photos. It was fun incorporating her ideas into the photo shoot and even more fun to wander around the fields and woods to get casual and comfortable photos of them. Their love is sweet and endearing and I couldn’t help but smile at this romance they share. They were a pleasure to work with and super loveable, I can’t wait for the wedding! Félicitations vous deux!

It’s the end of the year and what better way to reminisce about how great of a year it’s been than to pick out some of my favourite photos of 2013! It’s extremely hard to keep this list short since I loved every single session I did this past year and I thoroughly enjoyed working with each and every client that I had. But for the sake of brevity, here are my 26 favourite photos of 2013! (26, so random, I know!)
In no particular order, here they are, with a brief description of why I chose the photos:

I’ve had many opportunities to photograph the Cyrs, and this one was one of my favourite sessions with them. We kept the session low-key and casual. I went to their house and we basically visited and let life happen. As a result, we got a bunch of cute family shots of them simply and naturally enjoying themselves as a family. I loved it and I thought this shot was particularly cute and fun.
_________________________________

I loved these two! They made bold and unique choices for their wedding and everything came together wonderfully. I thought her dress looked particularly stunning in this shot and I loved how everything came together for this candid walking photo on a quiet path at Bridges Golf Course.
_________________________________

Again, another one of these at-home family portrait sessions. There’s something to this that just can’t be created in a studio or in a controlled, done-up photo set up. I loved spending the afternoon at their house and casually capturing them hanging out as a family. Also, I loved their artwork on the wall – so fitting for this shot!
_________________________________

I love engagement sessions because you can choose your favourite season, your favourite weather forecast and your favourite time of day. This was captured on a warm late August summer evening. We got perfect skies, perfect colours and it all came together for this adorably in-love couple! Can’t wait for their wedding in 2014. 🙂

It’s easy to get so focused on close-up portraits that you forget the big picture. So lately I’ve been making a point of taking a step back. Way, way back. It may take extra time to run out for the shot, but sometimes the view from afar is absolutely breathtaking. This tree could only be seen in its full glory from many feet away and I’m glad I captured it for my brother and his wife. This was on her family’s property so it was especially important to her to see the context of where their wedding photos were taken. Definitely worth the extra angle.
_________________________________

I don’t have to say much here – how cute is this?! Might not be the one they frame and put up in his room, but definitely one of my favourites… 🙂
_________________________________

This was such a picture-perfect evening for a Spring-time maternity session. The light was absolutely gorgeous and these two were as in love as ever. I loved loved loved this maternity session and I could have posted many more favourites from it!
_________________________________
This photo was taken in a field with the strongest gusts of wind EVER! The sky was so vast and gorgeous and I thought it was such a perfect backdrop to capture these two merely moments after they had tied the knot at a quaint and beautiful church ceremony just up the road.
_________________________________

I can’t remember what I was standing on, but sometimes the most awkward angles to shoot from are some of my favourites. I loved her dress and flowers – they were out of the ordinary and so perfectly matched to her style and elegance. Roslyn was a gorgeous bride, and though I have many other favourites where you can see her beautiful face, I especially loved capturing her from this unconventional angle.
_________________________________

It was raining (pretty much pouring), the engagement session was done but on the way back to our cars I saw these long blades of grass and couldn’t resist making one last stop! I pulled out my macro lens and thanks to the groom holding an umbrella over me, I was able to capture this shot without getting my camera too wet. So worth it!
_________________________________

It was a quiet moment in their living room, with warm day light and their cute little baby girl. I loved being able to capture this in the comfort of their own home and I especially loved their artwork on their wall. I can totally relate to these moments in a young family’s life and it just makes my heart swell.
_________________________________

It’s not often that a tiny little human being steals the show at a wedding. Although his mom (the bride) was absolutely gorgeous on her wedding day, I just couldn’t resist snapping a few extra shots of their kid – he was just so cute in his little tux!
_________________________________

Not really a traditional shot of a wedding party, but I loved the colours, shapes and angles and that’s exactly why I love this shot. Ashley and Matt totally rocked the exchange district locations that we chose for their wedding photos and even though some of these spots are over-used, these guys made it seem new and fresh to me. Such a fun wedding party!
_________________________________

I love the softeness, the quietness and the closeness of this shot. I loved photographing Jayda and Dan’s wedding, and now being able to capture these beautiful early moments in their growing family was especially wonderful for me. I loved capturing a little bit of this new treasure they now share.
_________________________________

I love country weddings and this one took place on a gorgeous rural property with a super fun couple. I loved this shot because it caught them in a candid moment without my lens being in their face. I also loved framing it with some of my favourite trees: birch!
_________________________________

One of the last engagement sessions that I shot in the Fall of 2013 was with this couple. The setting was beautiful, but the best part was how comfortable their love was. By the end of the session every close moment they shared turned into a beautiful photo. So lovely to be with them, I can’t wait for their wedding!
_________________________________

This was another former wedding couple of mine and it was such a treat seeing them again, this time with a beautiful baby girl! We did a lot of cozy at-home photos, but I particularly loved this one. Such a sweet and simple moment and this to me captured exactly how they feel about their daughter.
_________________________________

I dubbed this photo as the “Epic Photo” since it seems to have caught the attention of so many people. The funny thing is that I almost over-looked this shot while sifting through the hundreds of frames I took during this engagement session! But once I noticed all the gorgeous detail in the water, waves and sky, I had fun in Lightroom to showcase all its glory. Oh but of course, it’s the couple that makes this shot so epic – it’s my brother and sister-in-law and if you saw how in love they are, you’d agree that this photo perfectly expresses the richness of their love!
_________________________________

Loving hands and tiny feet. This shot is a simple expression of the dynamic love a married couple shares together with their firstborn. I particularly loved how in love this couple was, and I think that’s part of the reason this photo is one of my favourites.
_________________________________

This was my last outdoor photo session of 2013 – not because it was getting too cold, but because I was even more pregnant than this momma while doing this photo shoot! I love doing outdoor portraits in late autumn with all these earth-tone colours, and she absolutely radiated in this setting.
_________________________________

The light, the softness, the warmth and the love… he was only 10 days old, but I KNOW how much she loves her son. One of my favourite photos… and I have few words to explain why. It’s all in their faces.
_________________________________

A wide angle photo can include many things when positioned right, and I absolutely loved all the branches, trees, sunlight and texture in this setting. These two were so in love and I thought this photo could in some small way expose the radiance on their wedding day.
_________________________________

Moments before the wedding ceremony, this beautiful bride took a few quiet moments to get ready before walking down the aisle. As a photographer, I’m privileged to be able to capture these beautiful private moments and sometimes these are some of my favourite shots of the entire wedding day.
_________________________________

There are so many photos from this baby session that I could have chosen, but this one was my favourites. I can’t quite describe why, but I just loved it. She is SUCH a doll.
_________________________________

I’m a sucker for negative space and breaking the rules of standard photography. When I find a way to catch these angles, I tend to love these photos the most. This is my favourite photo from a maternity photo session I did for my sister at my house.
_________________________________

They were just married, she had kicked off her wedding shoes, and we were at the tail end of the wedding portrait portion of the wedding day. Such a fun couple and SO. IN. LOVE. I just love this shot of these two!

Thank you to everyone above and to the many more who aren’t on this list. If I had the time, I would have posted a photo from every single photo session of 2013! I’m truly honoured to have such amazing clients who believe in my work and in me. Without your trust, none of these photos would exist. I look forward to 2014 and to many new photo sessions with new and old clients alike. Happy new year everyone!

Although it seems like forever ago that we did this session, one glance at these photos and already I can remember how much fun I had photographing Lindsay and Carter! These two will be my first wedding of 2014 I’m super excited to be doing their photos because I know nothing will stop them from enjoying every moment to the fullest. They are through-and-through a stellar couple – they love to laugh and to kid around with each other, and they also have this deep, strong love for each other that means more than everything. All of that makes my job feel more like fun than anything so I know that they’re going kick start my wedding season on a high note! Congrats guys, can’t wait to see you guys again soon!

Dec 31, 2013 | Maternity
It’s always extra special when the people I photograph are family and it’s been especially wonderful following my cousin along on his new journey as husband and now father. When planning their wedding photography, I had the chance to get to know Larissa a lot more, and now that they have made their home in Winnipeg, it’s been a great pleasure to grow closer not only as cousins but as friends too.
These maternity photos were taken on an extremely hot and humid August day earlier this year, and although I’m a little behind in blogging, I’m excited to finally be posting them! Their little guy was born about a month after these photos were taken, and already he’s 3 months old! He has brought so much joy to their family and I’m very proud to be his cousin (once removed). 🙂
Larissa, you looked absolutely radiant and Daniel, you were so elated as a father-to-be – it was an absolute delight to take these photos for you! Félicitations!

Dec 15, 2013 | Family
Earlier this summer I was contacted by the Hall family for a portrait session with special significance. To celebrate their parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, the family surprised them with a bench dedicated in their honour at a Winnipeg park where they first fell in love. After the bench was unveiled (with red ribbon and all!) we took photos of the entire family – grandparents, kids and grandkids. I love doing multi-family portrait sessions and these guys were a prime example of why: bigger families mean bigger the fun, bigger the laughs, bigger the goofing around! We did the standard poses but interspersed were other candid, goofier shots (some a little too crazy for me to blog!). I definitely had a lot of laughs with them – they love to have fun together and some of them are certainly not shy in front of the camera!
Here is a collection of some of the photos from the session – definitely an awesome way of marking this special occasion and creating memories for years to come. Congratulations on 50 years of marriage! It was truly an honour to do these photos you!

Just over a year ago I had the privilege of meeting Erica and Will and doing an engagement session for them that also doubled as an early maternity photo session too. Back then Erica had the cutest little baby bump, and a few short months later they welcomed their adorable little boy Elliot into the world. Fast forward to their wedding day and the reasons for celebration were many! So many of their friends and family came from out of town to join them and it was beautiful to see such a lovely group of people surrounding them and supporting them on their big day. But best of all was that I finally got to meet little Elliot – what a handsome little man! Probably the smiliest and most camera-happy baby I’ve ever met. All he ever wanted to do was look at my camera and crack a huge genuine smile — the perfect little model for me! (and lucky me, I get to photograph his 1-year photo session later this week!)
Erica and Will started their day at a park in St. Boniface for their first look, followed by family photos and some gorgeous intimate wedding portraits just the two of them. We continued on to the Inn at the Forks for their ceremony where their close friend officiated it all (nice touch!). Although they did not have a formal wedding party, they made the time to have photos taken with their close friends and it was clear to see they are well-surrounded by lovely, caring people. The dinner and reception followed by the dancing and partying was super fun and lively – they celebrated well and it was awesome to be a part of it all! These two have love, respect and admiration for each other that is second to none. Together with Elliot, they have a strong bond and already they are proving to be a harmonious little family. Congratulations you both – I can’t wait for our next photo session already!

It’s amazing how fast a family can grow – this fun bunch is a great example of that. In just a few short years, the amount of grandkids has more than doubled! It’s been fun following the progression of this family as they’ve added to their numbers over the years. It’s always a pleasure taking their family portraits, and super fun catching all the candid playful moments that inevitably come after the formal group shots are done. All the cousins are best of friends (they’re like siblings almost!) and the uncles sure know how to run around and have fun with the kids on the play structure. No shortage of giggles here. I love it!

Lauren & Brent’s wedding had pizzazz, colour and a huge pop of personality – and that’s all thanks to their bold vision and the team they gathered to help them pull off their dream wedding! The colours were vibrant and fun and they found a way to incorporate it all in so many great ways: from Lauren’s bold bouquet to her wedding dress. All of it matched their personalities perfectly – these two are fun, care-free and creative individuals and together they make such a strong duo. I had a blast spending the day with them and their wedding party at Bridges and seeing the love and closeness they have for each other was extra special. Congratulations Lauren & Brent!

Back in August I got a call from Parks Canada asking me if I’d be available to fly up to Churchill to take some photos for them. Being in the middle of wedding season and having lots of photo sessions to get done (while 5 months pregnant!) I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to wing it. But after some short time thinking about it and some clever planning, we figured that I could make it work if I flew out there in the middle of the following week. So 3 days later I was boarding a plane for Churchill – a Northern destination that I was eager to discover for the first time.
I had heard nothing but good things about Churchill, and as I approached it by jet plane, I started getting really excited about finally seeing such a vastly different part of my home province. And what an experience it was! The landscape is truly beautiful, the locals are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and being there as a photographer was truly a huge privilege. Day one was spent delayed at the Winnipeg airport in the morning and finally in Churchill by the afternoon to take photos of Prince of Wales Fort. We took a boat ride at high tide to the peninsula where this impressive fort stands and on the way there and back we were greeted by some beluga whales. Breathtaking! What an experience being so close to those giant animals…
Day two was spent in a helicopter: first taking aerial photos of Prince of Wales Fort in the morning sunlight, followed by a longer flight through Wapusk National Park to take aerial and ground photos of this spectacular landscape. I saw polar bears (trying to stay cool in the summer heat), caribou, geese and lots of fascinating vegetation in this subarctic region. I also got to visit Nestor One, a research station in the middle of the park where a group of university students were spending a week as part of a research class. Being able to travel through this park where flights by helicopter are the only mode of transportation during the summer months was nothing short of amazing. It was a fantastic opportunity to visit the Churchill region and to see first hand all its beauty and vastness. Being given the task of photographing such an awesome place is truly humbling and I hope the photos I took will draw many to come explore this rich corner of the province of Manitoba.
A big thanks goes out to the Parks Canada staff who escorted me around and shared their wealth of knowledge about the historic features of the fort and the scientific aspects of the park. Another thanks goes out to our helicopter pilot for accommodating so many fantastic aerial angles that you see in these photos. And finally a big thanks to the Polar Inn and Gypsy’s Restaurant for keeping me cozy and well-fed while on the road.
For more information about visiting the area, check out Parks Canada’s website.

Multi-family photo sessions are one of my favourites – gathering a large family for photos takes a bit of coordination, but there is never any shortage of fun, laughter and candid photos when you have this many happy, lovely people together! Kim contacted me earlier this summer to do photos for her family and as soon as I met everyone, I knew this session was going to be a fun one. Everyone had a great time, the kids did super well for all the photos and even had tons of suggestions for me on what kinds of photos they wanted me to take! They were totally into it, and I loved it! Here’s a handful of photos from our lovely session…

This wedding was full of delights and that’s mainly due to the crazy big love that Alicia and Ben share together. Seriously, these two are unseparable! They always take every chance they get to steal glances at each other, embrace or simply join foreheads for an intimate moment of connection. They aren’t afraid of showing affection and as a photographer, I had nothing but great opportunities all day long to take photos of all their beautiful moments! Not only that, but these guys had a wedding party filled with fun people who were always game for any type of photo anywhere we went. The day flew by and it was such a pleasure being there to document it all!
We started with getting ready photos at the Inn at the Forks, followed by a lovely ceremony at the always-beautiful Terrace 55 at Assiniboine Park. We did family portraits and wedding party photos there, as well as at the Forks and finished the day off with more photos of their reception back at the Inn at the Forks hotel.
It’s always my pleasure photographing these two. The last time we did photos was at the same place (the Forks) but in a much colder climate… so coming back to the same spot this past summer and celebrating with them was even more awesome. Congratulations you two, you definitely make love look bigger than life!

I first met this lovely couple last year when I photographed another wedding they were a part of, and after spending time with them, I just knew they were going to be a ton of fun! After much planning and anticipation, their big day finally came and it was nothing short of amazing. We started the day with getting ready photos followed by a beautiful ceremony at St. Bernadette Parish. Their wedding party was made up of family members and it was clear to see they have a hugely supportive, caring and loving family. The family photos naturally flowed into the wedding party photos and we had a wonderful time walking around the Legislative Building grounds. After a champagne toast, we headed to Hut K to take a few more wedding couple portraits followed by our final stop at the stunning Manitoba Club on Broadway where their reception was held. After a few quick photos around the Club, we headed upstairs where the guests were starting to arrive. The whole evening was elegant, classy and beautiful mixed in with lots of laughs and good partying. It was an honour to photograph it all and especially wonderful to witness the deep admiration, appreciation and devotion that these two have for each other. Here’s a not-so-small handful of images from their beautiful wedding day!

Back in June, I had the pleasure of meeting Lori Mae and Matt, soon-to-be parents who were an absolute delight to photograph for their maternity session. A few short weeks later, I was back at their house to finally meet their little one – cute little River! This little guy is a treasure and his parents are oozing with love for him. He is the most perfect addition to their family and it was such a treat being able to take photos of their precious early moments together. Congratulations guys – he’s absolutely adorable!

It’s always extra special when the newborn photos I take are for a former wedding couple of mine… as was the case with beautiful little Avalyn. Almost three years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Kristin and Jonathan’s 2-day wedding event and when I heard they welcomed a little girl into the world, I was more than thrilled to do photos for them again! I came over to their house on a sunny July morning and was greeted by the cutest little girl ever: Avalyn. It was so cool seeing Kristin and Jonathan so smitten by their new little daughter, and I couldn’t have asked for a better model. What a sweetheart! Congratulations you two – she’s absolutely adorable!

Chelsea and Justin just tied the knot over a week ago at the beautiful Fort Gibraltar here in Winnipeg and leading up to the wedding I custom designed these wedding invitations with them. Rich colour, gorgeous texture using a fun 5″ squared trifold card on bamboo paper – I love it! It’s always fun being able to use engagement photos to add a little more personality to a couple’s wedding stationery. Here are some snapshots of their wedding invitations. Soon enough their wedding photos will also be online and on display – can’t wait to share those ones too!

Earlier this summer, Josie contacted me to book a photo session for her and her family. She was referred to me through Melanie & Jesse, and it wasn’t until their wedding that I actually had the pleasure of meeting Josie face to face. The very next day I drove out to her parents’ place in Lorette for the family photo shoot and got to meet the rest of her family. These guys are super laid back, hilarious, and a ton of fun to hang out with! They’re also great sports when it comes to weather… the sky looked iffy just before the shoot, but based on a radar weather map, we decided to wing the session anyway. As it turned out, the radar map was wrong, and 5 minutes into the session it started raining on us! We decided to keep going with it, and we found creative ways of keeping everybody fairly dry throughout the outdoor session. I was well protected under my coat and plastic bag (for my camera!), and we were able to get some great shots of everyone after all.
Thanks you guys for the great session! It was a blast! 🙂

Melanie & Jesse’s wedding back in July took me out to rural Manitoba on a beautiful farm property with all the charm you’d expect. It was a gorgeous day, and everything was planned out beautifully – colourful flowers, rustic decor and a catered feast by Woody’s Bar-B-Q. The day was made complete by all the amazing family and friends who came together and worked hard to have the whole place set up just right. It was awesome seeing everyone coming together, having fun and celebrating alongside Melanie & Jesse!
Because the weather was beautiful, we were able to spend the entire day outside, taking photos throughout the yard, in the woods and at a neighbour’s property with gorgeous horses and a beautiful log stable. Melanie and Jesse fit perfectly in all these locations, and along with their wedding party, I had a blast taking photos of it all!
Congratulations to Melanie and Jesse – these two are evidently a perfect match. They have a comfortable love, they are the best of friends, and there’s no where else they’d rather be than with each other, that is for sure. Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with me!

Back in July I had the chance to meet a beautiful little baby boy named Thomas. At 5 weeks old, he was still so small and cuddly, and absolutely adorable! I went over to his house to take the photos and it was such a delight seeing his parents beaming with such joy – they are head over heels in love with him and it’s easy to see why! We took some photos inside the house, but we also went out in the yard for a few shots, and he was completely mesmorized by the bright sky and the tree leaves moving in the wind! What an absolute cutie, and together with his parents they make such an adorable little family.
Félicitations Nathalie et Scott, Thomas est un vrai trésor!

For the past 3 years I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Candace and Craig’s growing family and it’s been such a treat seeing their little boys grow up! This year, they chose a few spots around Wolseley as their backdrop and we had a ton of fun getting formal and informal shots of the whole crew. It was particularly hot an humid, but the boys did amazingly well (as always!). They love running around and having fun for the candid shots, but they also listen so well for the posed shots – so great!
Candace has also been following the progression of my growing family too, doing our family portraits over the past 3 years as well. It’s awesome having such a talented photography friend like her! Soon you’ll be seeing my photos online soon… I can’t wait to see what she pulled off with us at our shoot!
For now, here are some highlights from their photo shoot… enjoy!

I had the great pleasure of taking Lisa & Matt’s wedding photos back in July on a picture-perfect summer day in Winnipeg. These two guys were absolutely gorgeous together – Lisa radiated elegance and beauty, and her spiffy groom Matt was a perfect match for her! I spent the day with them and their wedding party, having fun with photos at the Legislative Building, the Hamilton Building and at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Everyone was having a blast together and it was awesome to see their friends and family coming together with them to celebrate their love.
We started with a first look, followed by family photos and wedding party photos, and we finished the afternoon with a beautiful rooftop wedding ceremony at the WAG. Every little detail had come together so beautifully, and when the time came for Lisa and Matt to exchange vows, everyone’s eyes were glued on them. They are absolutely adorable to see together (couple portraits were my favourite!), but seeing them exchange their vows certainly didn’t leave very many people with dry eyes. Their love is deep, genuine and heart-felt – it’s hard not to get wrapped up in their story and celebrate alongside with them on their big day. They’re the perfect duo and I couldn’t be happier for them. Congratulations Lisa & Matt!!

Earlier in July I hopped in the car and headed a few kilometres out of Winnipeg to the Gross family home for a multi-family photo session. When I arrived I was greeted by a super warm and welcoming family in a huge house with an abundance of kids, activity and lots of love! Everyone had come together for a summer family gathering and it was the perfect occasion to get some photos of the whole crew (minus one person missing – but 26 out of 27 ain’t bad!). It’s always so special being able to get such a big family all in for photos, especially all the cute grandkids with their grandparents. It was a beautiful session and it was awesome to see them enjoying their time together so much. Here’s a snippet of the photos we took on that day!

Early July was packed with weddings and I’m so glad that I was able to fit Roslyn & Brett’s wedding into my schedule on short notice! Their wedding day turned out absolutely perfectly – no rain, which meant the ceremony at Fort Gibraltar was a go outside in an absolutely stunning setting. The guests arrived and the intimate ceremony played out beautifully on the East side of the Fort walls. The lunch reception followed immediately after and everyone enjoyed the delicious meal (and the hilarious speeches!). We then took some fun family photos just outside la maison du Bourgeois followed by “just married” photos of Roslyn and Brett in and around Fort Gibraltar. We continued the wedding portraits at the impressive Dalnavert Museum downtown and then we finished on the patio of Stella’s Café. Absolutely delightful! I loved every moment of it!

Not only were the locations fantastic, but Roslyn and Brett are such lovely people to spend time with and even more to photograph! It was such a pleasure being able to see them get married and to celebrate with their closest friends and family. There was a warmth and ease to the whole day, and the love that was felt was not just between the two of them – it was all around everyone at the wedding and it’s evident to see they have an amazing community surrounding them.
Roslyn and Brett – you are an impeccable match and I’m honoured to have been able to capture your wedding day! I hope you will cherish these photos for many years to come… congratulations!

Ashley and Matt got married at Fort Whyte – a beautiful marsh on the outskirts of Winnipeg – surrounded by close friends and family. It was a gorgeous setting, a beautiful hot summer day and I saw nothing but smiles and good moods all day long from everyone! We started the photos at Freshair Boutique where the girls were already having too much fun… meanwhile my second photographer Duncan was over at the guys’ house taking photos of the guys getting ready but also playing a game of giant jenga (why not?). We then met up at the gorgeous River Gate Inn on the Assiniboine River where we took more photos of the girls getting ready, followed by a first look with Ashley and Matt. The day continued on with more photos in the Exchange District and then off to Fort Whyte for family photos and their beautiful wedding ceremony by the water. The setting couldn’t be better (except for the aggressive mosquitoes!!) and everything came together so perfectly for their wedding day!
The highlight was seeing their adorable little daughter being a part of the wedding ceremony – there were a few planned parts, but lots of impromptu parts – such as her being held by her grandfather (also the officiator) as she held the microphone for her parents who were exchanging personal vows with each other. A-DO-RA-BLE! Melted my heart.
These guys and their wedding party definitely know how to have fun, enjoy every moment and appreciate the good things in life. It was a huge honour being able to photograph their wedding day after having done so many other great shoots for them in the past. Ashley and Matt are made for each other – and no, I’m not just being cliché – it really is true. I can’t imagine one without the other, and seeing their daughter Isla with them just completes the package to a tee. I couldn’t be happier for them and I certainly look forward to many more photo shoots with them in the future. Congratulations you two!!
PS: doesn’t Matt remind you of Tom Cruise?? Look-alike, I think!

I already wrote about this photo session for the sneak peek blog post here, so today, as I post the rest of the photos from this beautiful engagement session, I don’t have much more to add other than this: Manitoba has some spectacular outdoor locations and when you get the perfect mix of summer sun, fresh love and a super-cute couple who are head over heels for each other, there’s not much more that a photographer can ask for!
Erin and Patrick have found each other, and it takes only one look at them to see how crazy in love they are. I’m over the moon happy for them and consider it a huge honour to be able to photograph their journey to marriage. We started with a “Save the Date” photo shoot in April, made wedding invitations out of those photos, and now these engagement photos will be a part of their guestbook album which I’ll be designing for them later this month. So much love I can hardly handle it!! I love these two!!!
