juggling, brussel sprouts, and a yellow bear

I had the privilege of spending an evening at the studio with none other but Alphabet Soup – Winnipeg’s wacky children’s music band that never stops having fun. All within less than an hour, we took tons of pictures while having brussel sprouts chucked at me and their latest album (You’re It!) blaring on the stereo. What can I say: it was a ton of fun! (and so are their shows) Here are some highlights from the photo session. And if you’re interested in checking these guys out live, they will be at this year’s Winnipeg Teddy Bears’ picnic happening at Assiniboine Park on Sunday May 30th (at 10:30am).

Free Engagement Session Winners!

Back in November 2009 I donated an engagement session for an auction put on by Weddings in Winnipeg at the Grand Wedding Showcase held here in Winnipeg. The lucky winners of the engagement session were Faylin and Ryley – who I finally got to meet a couple weeks ago! We had been talking by phone and e-mail for quite some time, planning the perfect day to take engagement photos at Fort Whyte Centre. We finally met on a gorgeous, sunny (and hot!) Saturday morning and had a wonderful time taking pictures. They were an adorable couple with a great sense of humour. I was happy to be a part of the auction, raising support for a brand new not-for-profit organization: Learn Love, and even happier to meet Fay & Ryley for an engagement session. All the best to the organization and to the couple!

Colleen & Justin – Engagement Photos

It was on a cool and humid day that I met up with Colleen & Justin for engagement photos… not sure if it was going to rain… but having my studio as a back up location just in case. The rain stayed away (for the most part) and we ended up getting some gorgeous lighting & colours throughout the exchange district and Waterfront drive. And at the end, we still took a few quick shots in the studio anyway. Before starting, Colleen confessed to feeling awkward in front of cameras, but as you can see, it didn’t show at all! They were both very comfortable with each other and with me, and we ended up having a great time. Whenever I do engagement photos, it gets me even more excited to shoot the wedding – and theirs is no exception! Just a few short months away! Congrats you two. 🙂

Newborn Photos at the Studio

Cute little Noah! This little guy was about 3 weeks at the time of this shoot – very cute, with lots of fluffy blond hair like his dad. Although he was pretty hungry and squirmy that morning, we managed to get a few shots with mom & dad. He is incredibly cute, and together with his proud parents, they made a very adorable new little family. 🙂 Bryan & Cher are friends of mine, so I’m lucky enough to see this little boy grow week by week. Every time I see him, he seems to be doubling in size! They grow so fast… (cliché, but so true). Congratulations you guys!!
