Lyndsay and Brendan’s Wedding at the Winnipeg Art Gallery

Congratulations to Lyndsay and Brendan! These two have a love and connection that I can’t describe with words, but I was thrilled to be able to capture it with photos. Look at the photos, especially the one at the pub, when everyone else is eating nachos, they’ve got their full attention on each other. This was unposed, and is exactly how these two are with each other! So much love.

We did their first look just off Waterfront Drive in the Exchange District, and made a stop at Little Brown Jug to grab some drinks and a bite to eat. We then headed over to the Winnipeg Art Gallery, one of my favourite architectural spots in the city, where the light, angles and textures are gorgeous.

It’s been a pleasure getting to know Lyndsay through our volunteering at CreativeMornings Winnipeg. I value our friendship and the fun she brings to every event we work on. Getting to know Brendan has been just as wonderful and seeing them together makes so much sense – they are the right fit! They have a kind, generous and easy-going way about them, and being their wedding photographer was SO much fun. Here is a small preview of their photos from their wedding day:

The first look got us ALL teary-eyed.
Finding them like this was a constant. So adorable! A fun stop at Little Brown Jug.

Sav and Rob’s Wedding at FortWhyte Alive

Sav and Rob put SO much thought and care into their wedding day which included lots of friends and family and some super amazing locations in Winnipeg! The backdrops we had and the colours that were included were helping me create such a stunning collection of wedding photos and I had SO much fun capturing it all! They had two fun stops downtown: the first was at Little Brown Jug where we used their delightful patio and cool interiors for some photos with a pop of colour. The second stop was at Nonsuch Brewery where everyone got to relax and have a drink while I had the utmost joy taking photos of it all. The day came full circle at FortWhyte Alive where they got married overlooking the sun soaked water surrounded by beautiful trees and the sense of truly being in nature. The vibe was 100% reflecting their true selves and being their photographer was pure joy. Here are some highlights from their day!

Small Intimate Outdoor Wedding in Winnipeg

Andrea and Evan were married in a small, intimate backyard wedding surrounded by only their immediate family and lots of love. I had the honour to witness all of it, to capture the best moments and to preserve these memories for them. As a photographer, this is what I love the most! To create images that tell the story, that give them the peace of mind that everything is documented, and that the feeling of the moment won’t be forgotten.

We started with some detail & decor photos at the house, followed by a quick “first look” in the yard. We drove to the English Garden at Assiniboine Park to take some couple photos. (Thank you to my amazing second photographer, Duncan, who’s been second shooting with me for 15 years – he makes us a solid team and adds so many fun, unexpected second angle photos to add to their wedding collection. A few of his photos are included below – you may or may not notice it. Which is probably a good thing! His images are a seamless addition.)

After the couple photos at Assiniboine Park, we drove back to the house and headed into the intimate wedding ceremony outdoors, along the Assiniboine River. It was a 3-hour wedding shoot packed full of love, heart and connection. What a delight to capture it all! Here is a small preview of the 700+ photos that I delivered to them:

GABRIELLE TOUCHETTE

Hannah & Richard: Wedding Photography at Hawthorn Estates

When I first met Hannah at Richard’s sibling’s wedding a few years back, I immediately knew these two had something very special and that one day I would likely hear of their engagement. And my guess was not wrong. She was the right girl for him, and he for her, and before I knew it, I received an e-mail from them announcing their engagement! (cue in the happy dance!) Richard later told me that he knew within just a few days after they started dating that he would marry her one day. It’s one of those you-just-know-that-you-know love stories. And when you see them together, you can’t imagine that there was ever a day that they were not together! These two have a connection beyond words and to see their love for each other and their two hearts intertwined into one is incredibly beautiful. The ceremony was so moving (you can see all the emotions on their faces, and let me tell you, there was not a dry eye in that church!) and the rest of the day and evening had such a fun, celebratory mood. Their families are very near and dear to them and it was absolutely beautiful to see them so closely involved with everything. Even Hannah’s dad had the great honour of marrying them. I must also say that I absolutely love the venue they chose – Hawthorn Estates is such a great wedding venue, it’s just a short drive from Winnipeg, and best of all, they are fully equipped to accommodate photos in case of rain. (which we definitely took advantage of, as we did get a bit of rain throughout the time we had allocated for outdoor photos – it was perfect!). Here’s a preview of the photos from their wedding day!

Engagement Photography: Linette and Paul

It’s been wonderful reconnecting with Linette after first meeting her several years ago at a friend’s wedding. Now that her wedding is coming up this year, we’ve had the chance to chat about their vision for their day and take engagement photos for them with their super cute little dog. We went to Henteleff Park in south Winnipeg on a beautiful, sunny evening and captured so many great moments of their love and dynamic together. Knowing that she was a bit nervous and shy coming into the photo session, I wanted to make sure that frame of mind wasn’t leading her. Rather, we started with super basic, candid set up shots and soon before she even knew it, they were both totally in their element, completely connected with each other and showing off the true colours of their love. I always tell people that the authenticity of their relationship is what I’m after, and once I have them comfortable and in the zone with each other, all that anxiety and shyness melts away. These two are absolutely lovely, generous human beings with big hearts and tight chemistry. I can’t wait to photograph their fall wedding in Winnipeg this October!
